Reorganization inside the group

It has been already a few times that we had not given sign of life about Capharnaüm universe. The reason of this silence is a long way which carried out to a reorganization in the group.

Since almost 1 month now, Philippe-Antoine Bernard does not make any more party of the group. After 13 years of collaborations with the Blanchard brothers and 9 years since the arrival of Maxime Brisebois, our ways take new directions. For this reason, we are openly in the search of a new bass player.

Meanwhile, we continue the composition of the new parts which will take place on the next album planned for the beginning of the year 2009! More electronic parts will mix with the Blanchard brothers guitars and the terrific Max drum charts. We also work on a new spectacle which should bring us back on stage in next spring! All that does not kill us, makes us stronger!

See you soon!

Big news! 2007 starts with a « bang » for Capharnaüm as we have the pleasure to announce that we have just joined the ranks of UNICORN Digital, a record company specialised in progressive rock music with ties in over twenty countries. Our first album, « Le soleil est une bombe atomique », will be distributed abroad and this should help brining Capharnaüm to all of you. The album is ready!!!!!!!

More to come...

Dec 12th 2005

Hi there. It’s been a while, so here is a little update : what can you find in the Capharnaüm these days?

First, news about the album. We’ve just finished re-mixing “Le soleil est une bombe atomique” last week-end. We are really satisfied with the results, thanks to François and Fred who did a great job and spent a lot of time working the intricacies of our songs. We will being entering the mastering studio soon to complete the process. The song order changed a little bit, there are new transitions between songs and a little piece was added, “Dimanche soir à St-Zénon”. It’s taken from a bass jam that took place on our last night at the Studio Wild. François took some bass lines I laid out and played with them a bit, re-arranged some and incorporated ambient sound from the recording booth. It’s… intriguing. Can’t wait for you to hear it.

The cover art of the album will probably change as well since a friend of ours, a graphic artist whose work we love, agreed to add his own touch to the imagery we had already came up with. But ‘hush-hush’… it is not finished yet, so we don’t want to give anything away.

We look forward seeing you live in the no-so-distant future, we had a great time at our last show at Café Chaos, so thanks to all who showed up.

See you in a bit, and thanks for dropping by. You will always be welcome at www.capharnaum.biz. By the way, if you have questions, comments or simply want to rant about music or the state of the world we live in, you can write us at info@capharnaum.biz. I will start responding to e-mails on a regular basis, so feel free to share your thoughts.

Salut,

Phil-Antoine

New CD to be launched this fall !!

2005-08-28

We are almost finished working on our new album “Le soleil est une bombe atomique”. You can already listen to some tunes in the music section. We are presently putting the finishing touch on the album cover art. We used a picture took on top of Mount Fuji, in Japan. Really neat. It is going to be mind-bending! Can’t wait to have you experience it!

Capharnaüm in Africa???

2005-08-01

Who would have thought? We are presently planning a two weeks tour of the South African coast, with shows in Cape Town, Durbin and Johannesburg. Our friend, Quintin Bower, a local music promoter who works in Africa, but also in Europe and East-Asia, invited us to take our crazy music abroad. We applied for a grant offered by the Canadian Foreign Affairs Office hoping we can get a little help paying for our plane tickets.

“Ô Canada, terre de nos aïlleux…”

We are keeping our fingers crossed.
